PRR FOUNDATION – STRATEGIC STATEMENT
1. WHO ARE WE
PRR Foundation is an international network of organisations that:
· support Buddhist teachings and practice;
· foster the exchange of ideas to maintain religious harmony between followers of the Buddha and other religions;
· provide international support for education, health, environmental, cultural and disaster relief; and
· undertake related activities and research including Tibetan medicine and astrology, to promote and continue Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhist arts and culture.
The Foundation provides the organisational basis to support the activities directed by Pong Re Rinpoche.
The Foundation is currently active in New Zealand, India and Australia.
Pong Re Rinpoche
· Rinpoche was born in New Zealand, and was recognised as the first incarnation Lama in the southern hemisphere. A television documentary was made about him & can be seen here: https://www.nzonscreen.com/title/kiwi-buddha-2000/background/nz-on-screen-team
· He is the incarnation of Venerable Sharchock Pong Re Rinpoche of Eastern Tibet.
· Rinpoche received a traditional monastic education in India for more than twenty years, which included a 3 year, 3 month solitary retreat.
· Rinpoche received the Hindustan Times 30 Under 30 Award in 2021, in the category of Spirituality.
· Rinpoche is now engaged in social and Dharma activities internationally, contributing to the well being of the planet and society.
2. WHAT DO WE DO
PRR Foundation activities are rooted in the principles of the Buddha’s teachings.
These principles include recognition of the special qualities of human existence and the need to value all life.
This includes the understanding that all people can maximise the positive potential in their lives, while acknowledging that aging, sickness and death are inevitable.
· The support for Buddhist practice includes undertaking teachings, and organising seminars, conferences and retreats. To support teachers and teachings, PRR Foundation will arrange, source, produce and distribute required materials including books, texts, electronic media and objects relating to Buddhist teachings and practice.
· PRR Foundation will participate in inter-faith dialogue to promote harmony. PRR Foundation will also engage with experts to support the advancement of Buddhism and Tibetan culture in a changing environment.
· PRR Foundation actively supports the restoration of important sacred sites in the Himalayan region, and also provides environmental and disaster relief to help preserve its fragile eco system.
· It will also establish Buddhist-based education in the region, together with promoting health care in remote areas and care for the elderly.

4. WHO ARE WE FOR
PRR Foundation activities are relevant to all people. Our fundamental purpose is to help those seeking understanding, happiness and purpose in their lives.
Our activities, including Astrology are available to all people whether they are practising Buddhists or not. They are to provide guidance to establish balance, overcome obstacles skillfully, and pursue a positive life.

PRR FOUNDATION PRIORITIES, 1 YEAR, 5 YEARS, LONG-TERM
Current Priorities
1. Establish a legally recognised organisation for PRR Foundation in Australia. Activity is underway to have PRR Foundation (Australia) Limited established as a Charitable Company.
2. Research for a suitable property in Perth and Canberra for core activities, such as teachings & administration functions such as web development.
3. Establish an electronic media presence.
4. Share PRR Foundation Astrology services currently in New Zealand. This helps to preserve and promote Himalayan culture & provides benefits for recipients while consolidating PRR Foundation infrastructure for future activities.
5 Year Priorities
1. Maintain and finish development of a retreat centre in Victoria, Australia.
2. Support aligned Dharma Centres in NZ and Australia
3. Fundraise for initiatives, this includes both establishing income stream opportunities and philanthropy
4. Continue developing active & high quality social media platforms
5. Create quality branded merchandise to support brand recognition, development and awareness
6. Develop online shops
7. Host Tibetan Medicine & Astrology clinics offering online &/or personal consultations
Long Term Priorities
Undertake international activities consistent PRR Foundation goals.

Our Structure
PRR Foundation is a developing Buddhist organisation that aspires to operate internationally under the guidance of Pong Re Rinpoche. This single website is established with the capacity to navigate specific national interests. PRR Foundation provides an umbrella for affiliated national organisations with the intent of supporting Buddhist dharma activity for the benefit of all people.
We currently operate in New Zealand under the legal structure of PRR Foundation.
We are commencing dharma activities in Australia and are registered as PRR Foundation Limited (ABN 16 669 726 149) for our Australian activity.
Pong Re Rinpoche is also undertaking activity in Sikkim, India, including the construction of a school.
Activity in other countries is possible in the future.
The separate national structures will coordinate their activities and principles so that PRR Foundation will operate with international cohesion.
In the different countries, PRR Foundation aspires:
· To establish dharma centres to provide a place of teaching and Buddhist practice and worship.
· To develop and support retreat centres for the purpose of retreat which is integral to Tibetan Buddhist practice.
· Promote cultural aspects of Tibetan Buddhist practice such as Tibetan astrology and traditional medicine.
